IT is a large component of our Small Tourism Business Entrepreneurship Program. We currently have 12 laptops in our IT Lab/Computer Classroom, but we are in need of 18 additional laptops (12 for our IT Lab and 6 for our Library). Our students use these laptops to design websites, write business plans, create financial documents, prepare presentations, and conduct online research.
Your gift of these 9 computers will create more opportunities for our students to learn and will allow us to provide all students with the resources they need to be successful. These laptops will allow students to work with or without electricity, which is important as the power grid in Africa is often unreliable.
9 Classroom Computers
Can you imagine opening a small business without having access to a computer? You are providing nine computers for the IT classroom at Welcome Ideas training institute on the island of Zanzibar off the east coast of Africa. Students will be able to learn Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and other programs essential to opening their own small tourism business. This gift will provide current and former students with continued access to our IT classroom as they open their new businesses.
